Not only is the indie bloggers have taken a Year in review, even in the blog search engine and hipster-point number 1, Hype Machine, it's a tradition to start the new year, a compilation of the major tracks and newcomers to present.
This annual review is then called Zeitgeist and always reflects very well what has changed in terms of indie music.
To shorten the wait a bit, have the DJs of the RAC (which incidentally produce very very good remixes of well-known indie hits) on a half-hour mix set composed of the 2011 favorite. Is definitely worth the listen, you can even download it.
Included in the mix include "Midnight City" of M83, "Civilization" by Justice, "I follov rivers" by Lykke Li, but also this great number:
